In the world I was born in, with 3 billion humans, 75% of them were leading short, brutal lives. In the world that I live in, with 8 billion people, the situation is a tad different. In the sixties, 500 people per hundred thousand died of hunger. In the under-populated 50s, it was even worse. In the 1980s, that number was 29. In the 2020's, it's 3 per hundred thousand.
